If it has any respect for itself, it will promptly schedule a vote on President Obama\u2019s most recent veto.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal1\">\u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/114th-congress\/senate-joint-resolution\/8?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22sjres8%22%5D%7D\"><span style=\"color: #1155cc;\">nixed bill<\/span><\/a> was a resolution to strike down <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gpo.gov\/fdsys\/pkg\/FR-2014-12-15\/pdf\/2014-28777.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #1155cc;\">new regulations<\/span><\/a> issued by the National Labor Relations Board in mid-December. These new rules, which run 180 pages and are complex, would have the effect of making it easier to unionize certain workplaces. Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., who introduced S.J. Res. 6, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/washwire\/2015\/02\/10\/republicans-try-to-overturn-nlrb-union-election-rule\/\"><span style=\"color: #1155cc;\">said<\/span><\/a> the new regulations allow \u201ca union to force an election\u201d to decide whether to unionize \u201cbefore an employee has a chance to figure out what is going on.\u201d To the concern of some in Congress, the rules also would force employers to provide union advocates with employees\u2019 email addresses and phone numbers&#8230;(read more at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/blogs\/congress-should-vote-override-obama-s-latest-veto_918180.html\">Weekly Standard<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congress returns from its two-week break today.
