Justice<\/a> wrote well of this book.\u00a0 His review provides a summary of the book\u2019s contents. Justice mentions that the book provides an \u201cencyclopedic review of the literature\u201d on business improvement districts (BIDs; p. 554).<\/p>\n<p>One especially interesting point that he made is that \u201cthere is evidence that BIDs can increase property values (Ellen, Schwartz, and Voicu 2007) [and] decrease crime (Brooks 2008).\u201d\u00a0 That said, \u201cthere is yet little empirical evidence demonstrating BIDs\u2019 economic effectiveness\u201d (p. 554).<\/p>\n<p>Justice himself is the co-author of a forthcoming article on BIDs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong> <cite id=\"CITEREFJustice\" style=\"font-style: normal;\">Jonathan B.
